ABC Children's Aid was founded in 1988 as an Icelandic, interdenominational aid foundation.

ABC Children's Aid is a Private Non-Profit Institution and submits its annual accounts to the Icelandic National Tax Office.

All contributions to ABC are used 100% to aid Orphans and Children in need, unless meant specifically for operational costs.

ABC Children´s Aid is about meeting the requirements of children in need.

Our mission is to offer everlasting aid to abandoned and destitute children in the form of education and a home where needed.

The purpose is to provide destitude Children with long-term aid and act as an intermediary for the contributions of generous sponsors and others which are used directly to help children in poor countries.

ABC Children's Aid now supports close too 6000 children with the help from Icelandic and International fosterparents, mainly in India, Uganda, Philippines and Pakistan. In May of 2006 around 4300 sponsers are active in the programme. Each Child has only one sponsor.

The aid is mainly aimed at providing education for children who would otherwise not have the opportunity. They also receive medical aid, food and housing where needed.
